    HTML => Hyper Text Markup Language,it Use only Predefined Tags.It is Not Case Sensitive Example : HTML as start tag and html as end tag are accepted.It is used for displaying data (presentation language).It is also Static (Content is not changed every time page is reloaded).In HTML Every tag need not having an end tag.
    On the other hand,

    XML => Extensible Markup Language and users must create their own tags, It is Case Sensitive Example: BOOKS as start tag and Books as end tag are not accepted.it is used for For describing data.XML is Dynamic i.e content is changed every time page is reloaded. In XML every tag must have an end tag.
