Recently the Income-Tax department has served a Rs. 2,000-Crore demand notice to “Nokia” in India. It is being said that this notice has been as the company has violated the tax rules norms in India. However currently Nokia has got a court stay on the notice. According to one of the sources “The tax evasion is related to the royalty payment made against the supply of software by Nokia’s parent company, which attracts a 10% tax deduction under the Tax Deducted at Source category,”
