Himachal Pradesh is the Indian state whose government has launched video chat facility in all six prisons of the state. The decision has been taken on 26th July 2013. They have also declared one barrack in six jails as the open air jail in Kanda, Nahan, Solan, Mandi, Dharamsala and Chamba towns. These will allow prisoners to go out after serving a stipulated term and earn their livelihood.
