    The world’s first color broadcast took place on July 3, 1928 at London. It used scanning discs at the transmitting and receiving ends with three spirals of apertures.

    The first demonstration of color television happened in 1928 when John Logie Baird showed off his Televisor system modified for color. Although the Televisor was electro-mechanical, the principles used remain in place today. It was purely experimental at that stage.
    The US were the first to enjoy color broadcasts commercially with RCA starting regular broadcasts in color in 1954.
    Europe had to wait some time longer for color with the BBC sending out their new color transmission in 1967.
