    Akali movement was started around 1920 in Punjuab with the aim of transferring control of Sikh Gurudwaras from the traditional clergy and the government appointed persons to the elected Sikh bodies. This movement was another Non cooperation movement against the British government that played a vital role in India’s freedom struggle.
