    The “COINTELPRO” is the short name of “Counter Intelligence Program” and was a series of covert that was conducted by the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) of the United States. It was started in the year 1956 and was ended in 1971. It was an operation against domestic political groups including “Communist Party” and aims at the infiltrating, surveying, disrupting and discrediting these parties.
