The Drain of Wealth can be defined as the exploitation of the resources (wealth) of a country by the colonial power. It was first experienced in the mid 18 century during the British rule in India. This theory was attributed to “Dadabhai Naoroji” who was a Parsi educator, cotton trader and intellectual. He is responsible for the drainage of the Indian wealth to England in early 1860s.
