preventing SCs and STs from filing nominations for elections will also be now treated as crime ( denial of voting rights to them is already an offence).
The SC/ST (Prevention Of Atrocities) Act 1989 Of India is an act which was approved by the Parliament of India to protect the rights of Scheduled Caste and Scheduled Tribes. According to the some sources, few Amendment has been passed by the government to strengthen existing provisions and to add new offenses against SC and ST and these are :
