“Ascendant” is a term which can also be called as the rising sun. It is a sign on the edge of the initial house of the Natal Chart. It rose on the Eastern horizon at the time of birth of a particular person with reference to the place of birth. It is included in the four angles of the chart. The one angle is Ascendant and the other three are Descendant, the Imum Coeli (IC), and the Midheaven (MC). The term “Ascendant” determines the physical or outer appearance of our body.
