    Chakravarti Rajgopalachari was the first person but C. V. Raman and Sarvepalli Radhakrishnan were also won the Bharat Ratna in the same year 1954.

    Chakravarti Rajgopalachari was the first person to win the Bharat Ratna Award in the year 1954. He was an Indian lawyer, independence activist, politician and also the last Governor-General of India. However, Sir C. V. Raman and Sarvepalli Radhakrishnan was also awarded as the Bharat Ratna in the same year.
