English is a very vast language which is spoken all around the globe. The language has a very large vocabulary and there is no exact count of the number of words. According to a joint study between Harvard and Google in the year 2010 there were 1,022,000 words and it has been estimated that this number will expand with approx 8,500 words rate each year. However, in the Oxford English Dictionary there are more than 250,000 distinct words.
