UN High Commissioner Of India Navi Pillay visited many parts of Sri Lanka on 27 August 2013 who were badly affected because of 30 years of civil war between the military and the Tamil Tigers. Her main aim for the visit was to look at the human rights situations and then report to the UN Human Rights Council in Geneva.
The primary aim was to look at the human right situation on war affected areas in Sri Lanka and report to the UN Human right Council in Geneva.
