    Vinay Kumar Singh was the Chief of Indian army in the year 2011. He was selected as the 26th chief of the Indian Army on 31st March, 2010 and retired from his post on 31st May, 2012. He comes from the Bapora village (Bhiwani district), Haryana and he is the first trained commando to be promoted as general.
