Who was “Stamford Raffles”

    Sir Thomas Stamford Raffles was a British statesman and was born on 6th July, 1781 in the Off the Coast of Jamaica. He is commonly known as the “Father of Singapore” as he found it in the year 1819. He also wrote the book named as “History of Java” which was published in the year 1817.
