“Clifford Dodd” who is an Australian administrator is known as father of commercial broadcasting in Sri Lanka. He is called so because he helped the Government of Ceylon and has set up the Commercial Service of Radio Ceylon. He was the first Director of the Service also. He came to Sri Lanka in the year 1950s under the Colombo Plan.
