The scientist from the University of Twente MESA and Institute for Nanotechnology has recently demonstrated a new data storage disc that can last to at least 1 billion years. The wafers consisting of tungsten are used to store data on this disc that helps it to secure data in for extremely long periods and each bit is written by using etching techniques.
