“Karondi” Village, close to a small town called Paan Umaria, located in Seoni district, about 87kms from Jabalpur city of Madhya Pradesh declared as the central point of the India by the survey of India. The distance between Jabalpur and Karondi is about 87kms. It has a population of about 498 persons living in around 82 households. “Maharishi Mahesh yogi’s” Karondi Ashram is ideally located close to a monument having emblem of India (Ashok Stambh). The monument was made there to indicate the Geographical Central Point of India. Earlier in year 1998, in the land of Karondi Ashram, world’s tallest building was proposed to be built of height 2222 ft high, 144 floors 20 million sq. ft. of living space. But due to red-tapism spread in that time prevailing state government, project was not permitted and ultimately plan was dropped. As per Maharishi Sansthan, whole world is a country and “Karondi” is suppose to the capital of that country.
