    In the third quarter of 2006, this service was discontinued by Microsoft.

    The MSN Chat is one of the version of Internet Relay Chat Extension (IRCE) and a total of eight versions of this service was launched by Microsoft. This service was discontinued by Microsoft on 31st August, 2006. However, it was closed for 28 countries, including India and China in the year 2003 due to some problem with spams.
