    Cold war refers to the war which started from 1947 to 1991. It was a state of tension between the political and military powers in the Western Bloc which was dominated by the United States with NATO among its allies and the powers in the Eastern Bloc which was dominated by the Soviet Union along with the Warsaw Pact.
