In terms of physics and mathematical science, the basic difference between scalar and vector is that the scalar is the quantities which can be wholly described by single numerical values like magnitude, temperature and weight. Where as vector quantities can be described with more than one numbers like magnitude and a direction & height and velocity. Scalar is also called a one dimensional measurement of a quantity and vector is called as a multidimensional measurement of quality.
