A Beatus map is also called as T-O or O-T map which defines the physical world. It represents only the top half of the earth. It was first characterized by the scholar of the 7th century, Isidore of Seville. It is a medieval world map which is frequently called as beatine map. The letter “T” defines the Mediterranean sea, the Nile, the Don which together called as Tanais. It was broken into three continents i.e. Asia, Africa and Europe. The letter “O” represents the oceans around the world.
