The Reserve Bank Of India on 10 June 2013 has imposed a huge fine of Rs.5 crore on Axis Bank, Rs.4.5 crore on HDFC Bank and Rs.1 crore on ICICI Bank. According to RBI these banks have violated the instructions on KYC (Know Your Customer). It has been found in the detailed investigation that these three banks has violated the regulations and instructions issued by the RBI, in some of the cases these banks has also not taken care of form 60/61 (permanent account number card details).
